Maria Lloyd was born in Poland, graduating with an MA from the Gdansk Academy of Music. After a few years with the Gdansk Philharmonic, she emigrated to Germany where she lived for fourteen years, playing with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland Pfalz. During this time she toured extensively throughout Europe and South America and made recordings, television and radio appearances, as well as solo performances. Since 1994 Maria has lived in England, where she combines her career as a solo and chamber music performer with that of teacher.

Wendy Waldock grew up in Hull, and started lessons on the cello at the age of eight. After graduating as a performer from the Royal College of Music in London, she trained as a teacher, and her career as a cellist and teacher has taken her to Bristol, Belfast, Manchester, London, Grimsby, Hull, and (since 1986) Stafford.

Roy Wightman, a native of Stafford, studied music at Oxford and York where he was awarded a D.Phil for his study of the music of the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski. Besides working as a teacher, he serves as a principal examiner with one of the country's leading schools examinations boards and continues to pursue his interests in Polish music, his publications including several articles and books on Karlowicz and Szymanowski. He has recently edited a symposium devoted to Szymanowski's songs for publication this year by the University of Southern California, and is presently working on a volume of Szymanowski's correspondence in translation.
